Introducing the Center for Innovation
On February 1, 2026, the Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship Support was renamed the Center for Innovation and Creativity according to Decision No. 100/QD-DHNT of the Rector of Nha Trang University.
The center's core tasks and powers are reflected in its activities: Entrepreneurship and innovation, technology transfer, community development, career guidance for the University, and other related activities.
History of Formation and Development
- On June 2, 2013, the Student Counseling & Support Team, the predecessor unit of the Student Counseling and Support Center, was established, under the Student Affairs Department.
- On November 3, 2014, the Rector of Nha Trang University issued Decision No. 1126/QD-DHNT establishing the Student Counseling and Support Center, an independent unit under the Rector.
- On February 7, 2018, the Center was renamed the Center for Business Relations and Student Support according to Decision No. 104/QD-DHNT of the Rector of Nha Trang University.
- On May 1, 2022, the Center was renamed the Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship Support according to Decision No. 500/QD-DHNT of the Rector of Nha Trang University.
- On February 1, 2026, the Center was renamed the Innovation Center according to Decision No. 100/QD-DHNT of the Rector of Nha Trang University.
Regulations on the tasks and powers of the Innovation Center
Based on Article 15 of Decision No. 100/QD-DHNT dated January 22, 2026, on the promulgation of regulations on the tasks and powers of units under and directly affiliated with Nha Trang University, the tasks and powers of the Innovation Center are stipulated as follows:
1. Entrepreneurship and innovation activities
a) To lead the development and implementation of strategies and plans for the development of entrepreneurship and innovation activities in the University, oriented towards scientific and technological research and the needs of businesses, localities, and society;
b) To implement activities to support students in innovation; a) Building a startup ecosystem within the University, connecting resources to support students, faculty, and staff in starting businesses; Organizing training and skill development courses on innovative entrepreneurship for faculty, staff, and students;
c) Organizing soft skills training courses for students;
d) Leading the organization of incubation, pre-incubation, and startup acceleration programs; supporting the formation of startup groups and projects originating from scientific research topics, inventions, useful solutions, and technological products of the University;
e) Leading the organization of competitions, forums, festivals, and workshops on innovative entrepreneurship; identifying, selecting, and supporting potential startup ideas and projects of faculty, staff, and students in the University;
f) Managing the innovation and entrepreneurship activities of faculty, staff, and students in the University;
2. Technology Transfer Activities
a) Lead and organize activities for commercialization, application, and transfer of scientific research results, inventions, useful solutions, and scientific and technological products that have been successfully implemented within the University;
b) Manage, coordinate, and support technology transfer and technology consulting activities of research institutes, science and technology centers, and faculties within the University; connect the University with businesses, localities, and domestic and international organizations to promote the transfer and application of research results into practice.
c) Participate in advising and proposing mechanisms and policies to promote innovation and entrepreneurship activities associated with technology transfer within the University.
3. Community Development and Career Guidance Activities of the University
a) Lead and coordinate with units to implement community development activities;
b) Lead the connection with high schools to organize career guidance activities; a) Organizing activities to welcome high school students and university students from within and outside the province for career counseling, visits, and practical experiences at the School; coordinating with the Training Department and relevant units to organize student recruitment promotion activities;
c) Leading career guidance activities for students: field trips for first-year students, entrepreneurship orientation and career development workshops for students inside and outside the School;
d) Leading the organization of professional competitions jointly organized by Departments, Agencies, and Businesses;
e) Coordinating with the School's Youth Union and Student Association to organize extracurricular activities for students; volunteer activities, cultural and social activities, and gratitude activities;
g) Leading and coordinating surveys on community development activities; proposing solutions to improve the quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of these activities.
4. Other duties
a) Lead the development of internal management documents related to the unit's functions and tasks;
b) Manage and evaluate the unit's staff and employees; manage assigned assets and equipment;
c) Implement reporting and accountability procedures for assigned tasks as prescribed;
d) Ensure the unit's quality;
e) Connect and coordinate with relevant units and organizations outside the University in performing assigned functions and tasks;
f) Perform other tasks assigned by the Rector.
